Well-Fed for A Year
A body-builder came to a village called Ratnapur. He lifted a huge boulder to the great amazement of the crowd gathered around him.
Inspired by the body-builder’s strength, Rabin, a village boy, declared, “If I am fed well for a year, I too can easily lift a boulder as he does.” The villagers, intrigued by Rabin’s assertion, encouraged him to put his declaration in writing.
The villagers took it upon themselves to ensure that Rabin was well-fed for an entire year. They believed that with the right nourishment, he would develop the strength needed to realize his claim.
At the end of the year, Rabin attempted to lift a boulder. However, it was a small one, easily manageable for anyone. When confronted about his declaration, he clarified, “I did not say that I can lift a boulder like the one the body-builder lifted. I only said that I too can easily lift a boulder!”
