The Stolen Tumbler

The young Rasik seemed quite enthusiastic about participating in the activities at the temple. The priest took a liking to him, allowing Rasik the freedom to visit the temple at any time and enter any of its rooms.

The Discovery

One day, the priest discovered that the deity’s gold tumbler was missing. Given the circumstances, it was clear that Rasik could be the only one who had stolen it.

An Unexpected Revelation

One afternoon, the priest was seen counting a bundle of currency notes. Curious, Rasik asked, “Where did you get so much money?”

“There is nothing to hide from you. I sold a gold crown of the deity,” replied the priest. “Now, keep this to yourself.” He then slipped a note into Rasik’s hand.

The Bargain

Rasik ran away but returned within ten minutes, clutching the stolen tumbler. In a hushed voice, he said to the priest, “Please sell this one to the same goldsmith and give me half of the price you receive.”

The Consequence

Though the priest recovered the tumbler, he sternly asked Rasik never to enter the temple again, marking a bittersweet end to their association.
