The Proud Exhibition
There was once a raja who took great pride in exhibiting his wealth. This time, he had purchased a precious diamond and decided to invite the neighboring rajas and landlords to admire it.
As evening fell, the distinguished guests gathered in the raja’s durbar hall. The diamond, placed in a small gold plate, was displayed prominently on a table. All the guests admired its brilliance and beauty.
However, at one point, the raja’s minister noticed that the diamond had gone missing. It was clear that one of the guests had discreetly taken it while the others were engaged in conversation.
After a moment of stunned silence, the minister addressed the crowd, saying, “Noble guests! It would be embarrassing to search you individually. Perhaps it would be best to extinguish the light for two minutes. Let the one who has taken the diamond return it to the gold plate.”
With that, the light was turned off, plunging the room into darkness. After two minutes, when the light was restored, it was discovered that the gold dish itself had also vanished!
