The Need – False and True
On a specific day, the king summoned those without homes to gather before the palace. He promised to provide them with housing, but as the day arrived, he looked distressed. Despite all his resources, he found himself unable to build houses for such a large number of people.
Seeing the king’s distress, the minister announced, “Let all those who need houses climb the hill. They must cut out slabs for the construction of their own homes. Each person will be required to work only according to their capacity.”
Within minutes, the crowd dispersed, leaving only a handful of individuals heading towards the hill. The king soon realized that these were the ones truly in need of homes. Their willingness to work for their shelter highlighted the stark difference between those who sought assistance and those who genuinely required it.
