The King’s Strategy
In days gone by, there was a forest bordering the kingdom of Sudhapur. A gang of bandits found the forest to be their safe refuge, where they harassed and plundered the people living nearby before fleeing back into the woods. The king found it increasingly difficult to capture them.
One day, the king announced that whoever could kill the leader of the gang would marry the princess and become the crown prince. This proclamation sent ripples of excitement and ambition throughout the kingdom.
However, within a week, the gang began to wither away. The leader, knowing that his followers would find it hard to resist the temptation of such a generous reward, fled for his life. Consequently, no one else dared to take on the leadership role for fear of being killed by a follower eager to claim the reward.
