The Hidden Armoury
“My Lord, we must transfer our hidden armoury to a new location!” the minister urgently advised the king.
“Why?” asked the king, taken aback.
“The officer in charge of the hidden armoury died six months ago. Since then, his sons have been spending a significant amount of money—money that their father could not have earned through his salary,” the minister explained.
“The enemy king has sent a spy to our kingdom. This spy privately approached the enemy king, offering to sell him the secret of our hidden armoury for a price. However, the king declined, claiming he wasn’t interested,” the minister added.
“So?” the king inquired once more.
“This suggests that the enemy king already possesses the secret. The late officer must have divulged it for a substantial bribe. That behavior explains how his sons can afford to spend so freely,” the minister clarified.
Upon hearing this, the king finally grasped the gravity of the situation.
