Managing the King!

A foolish king found himself fortunate to have a clever minister by his side. One day, the kingdom was threatened by a severe famine. Fortunately, the king had a large stock of grain stored away.

Despite this stockpile, the king refused to release any grain when his subjects pleaded for assistance. Their complaints soon reached the minister, who understood the gravity of the situation.

“My lord, a time may come when hunger would compel the stock to be released,” the minister cautioned the king. However, the king remained obstinate in his decision.

In an attempt to protect the grain from the people’s reach, the king ordered, “Send all the grain to an island that cannot be accessed by anyone.” Following the king’s instructions, the minister transported the stock of grain to the seaside.

Afterward, the minister informed the king, “My lord, the ship loaded with grain has sunk!” The king, unconcerned, responded, “In that case, let the people dive into the sea and take whatever grain they can find, free of charge.”

Following the king’s words, the minister arranged for a proper distribution of the grain from the seaside, turning a dire situation into a moment of relief for the hungry subjects.
