From Darkness to Light

A light-hearted exchange unfolds in the dim light of a South Indian home, where a moment of embarrassment transforms into friendship against the backdrop of cultural warmth and traditional elegance.

A man paid a visit to a friend’s house. Although the sunlight outside was bright, the electricity had gone out, leaving the interior of the house in darkness.

“It is so dark!” he exclaimed as his hand brushed against a timepiece on a table. Without thinking, he picked it up and concealed it under his coat.

Within a minute, his eyes adjusted to the dim light, and he could discern his surroundings. It dawned on him that the others in the room had likely witnessed his act of theft.

Feeling quite embarrassed, he stood there, unsure of what to do next.

Just then, another man entered and remarked, “How dark it is!”
“It is dark,” the first visitor admitted. “But if you keep this timepiece tucked under your coat for just a minute, everything will become clearer.”

With a broad grin, he handed the timepiece to the second visitor, turning an awkward moment into a light-hearted exchange.
