The Power of Faith

A certain disciple had complete faith in his master. He even managed to walk on the waters of a river while invoking his master’s name. His extraordinary ability was possible only because his belief in the powers of his guru was unshakable. He spoke of his teacher with deep reverence and devotion.

The Master’s Pride

When the master learned that his disciple had crossed the river, he thought to himself, “If my very name can inspire my disciple to perform such a miraculous feat, how much greater must my powers be!”

The Consequence of Arrogance

Puffed up by this thought of his greatness, the master went to the river, eager to replicate the miracle. However, as soon as he tried to walk on the water, he sank like a stone and drowned.
