A Gesture—Noble and Clever
Once, a king and his minister were wandering about in their kingdom when they encountered two travelers from another realm. The travelers requested, “Can you show us the way to a rest house?”
Intrigued, the king asked, “What kind of king rules this city?” Just then, a nobleman happened to pass by and overheard their conversation. He stopped and said, “Strangers, we have rest houses built for travelers just like you. They are always welcome in our homes. Please, come with me!”
The next day, the king congratulated the nobleman for his kind act. He was impressed by the nobleman’s hospitality and decided to commend him publicly.
Inspired by this encounter, the king took immediate steps to construct additional rest houses throughout the kingdom. He believed that creating more spaces for travelers would enhance the sense of community and hospitality in his realm.
