A Pair of Cuckoo

Joyful camaraderie under the banyan tree: Jagu and Ravi’s playful mimicry creates a charming moment woven into the fabric of village life.

The Sound of a Cuckoo

Walking along the village road, Jagu heard the cooing of a cuckoo. He guessed that the sound came from a banyan tree.

A Playful Competition

He mimicked the cuckoo, and the bird seemed encouraged, singing with greater gusto. Jagu continued to compete with it in cooing until he eventually felt tired.

An Unexpected Encounter

Feeling satisfied, he walked towards home. Under the banyan tree, he met his friend, Ravi.

A Lighthearted Revelation

“I heard a cuckoo singing from some distance in this tree. I mimicked it, and it responded lustily!” he informed Ravi.

Ravi looked amused. “Dear friend! It was I who was cooing just for fun. When I heard a response, I began cooing louder, thinking that the response came from a real cuckoo!”
