Case Adjourned

Ravi’s clever legal maneuver in a traditional South Indian courtroom captures the spirit of wit and determination, entwining humor with justice.

Ravi’s Legal Journey

Ravi studied law under a renowned legal expert. Upon graduating, the expert demanded a thousand rupees as his fee.

A Unique Agreement

“I will give you the fees only if I win my first case in court. That is the condition in our contract,” Ravi stated firmly as he walked out.

The Overlooked Clause

To his dismay, when the expert read the contract, he realized that Ravi’s claims were valid. He had overlooked the specific condition laid out in their agreement.

Bringing the Matter to Court

Infuriated, the expert took his complaint against Ravi to the court.

The Courtroom Argument

Questioned by the judge, Ravi explained, “My lord, I am to pay him his fees if I win my first case. This is my first case. If you order me to pay him, I effectively lose the case, meaning I would not have to pay him. Conversely, if you rule that I do not have to pay, he loses the case. Thus, he cannot claim his dues once he has lost!”

A Surprising Verdict

The judge, taken aback by this peculiar argument, adjourned the case for a hundred years!
