Two Fools
In a certain village, there lived a poor man. One day, by a stroke of luck, he found ten rupees. Excited by his fortune, he decided to hide the money in a hole he dug in the wall of his house. To prevent anyone from discovering his secret, he sealed the money inside and wrote on the wall with a piece of charcoal, “No money is hidden here.”
The Worry
Later, Budhu, his friend, came to visit. Upon finding that the villager was absent, Budhu noticed the writing on the wall. Filled with anxiety that someone might suspect him of being a thief, Budhu decided to take action. He wrote on the door of his house, “Budhu has not stolen his friend’s money.” This made him feel relieved, as if he had successfully averted any suspicion.
The Misunderstanding
The absurdity of the situation escalated as both friends, in their attempts to avoid suspicion, ended up drawing attention to themselves. Their foolishness intertwined, creating a web of misunderstandings that highlighted their paranoia and lack of common sense.
