Three Advices
In a certain village, there lived a man named Govind. He informed his wife that he was leaving for the city to earn some money, due to lack of work opportunities in the village. Securing a job with a wealthy city-dweller, he was treated generously with food and clothing. However, despite the many years he worked, he was never paid any wages.
The Request
His patience wearing thin, and Govind asked his employer to settle his dues. His master responded by offering three gold coins but proposed to give something more valuable: three pieces of advice.
The Three Advices
Though desperate for money, Govind was interested in the advice. The rich man advised him not to worry about matters that did not concern him, to remain steadfast in his decisions, and never to give in to anger, especially at night.
The Journey Begins
Following these advisories, Govind embarked on his return to the village. During his journey, he came across peculiar situations and individuals, each testing one of the three wisdoms his master provided. Whether it was refraining from questioning a man tethering gold and silver to trees, declining a tempting shortcut offered by merchants, or holding onto his anger overnight upon seeing a young man at his home; Govind adhered to the advice.
A Twist of Fate
As fate would have the merchants were ambushed by bandits on the shortcut, leaving their abandoned merchandise with Govind. Upon reaching his home, he found a young man living with his wife which tested his restraint.
The Happy Resolution
However, by morning, Govind learned that the young man was his son, born after he had left. To express his joy, he revealed all the wealth he had accrued during his journey. His wife instantly recognised him, introduced him to their son and their family was happily reunited.
