The Magic Cloak
The Young Soldier’s Journey
A young soldier, who had been away for nearly two years, was returning home. As he was passing through a thick forest, darkness fell. Therefore, he decided to sleep the night beneath a tree. He collected some wood and made a bright fire to frighten away the wild animals. Then he rolled up in his blanket and soon fell into a deep sleep.
The Magic Cloak
Half-hidden in the gloom of the forest, he saw a dwarf. The soldier took pity on the dwarf and invited him closer, sharing food and warmth from the fire. In return, the dwarf gifted the soldier a magic cloak, which could grant any wish the wearer desired.
The Wish And The Castle
Eager to try out the cloak, the soldier wished for a grand castle filled with lavish wonders. By the time he woke, he found himself outside a castle teeming with the luxuries he had wished for. Life became a continuous celebration for him.
The Greedy Princess
During a grand ball at the palace of the King, the soldier danced with the King’s daughter. The greedy princess grew curious about his sudden wealth and power and discovered his magic cloak. While the soldier was distracted, she stole the cloak.
The Soldier’s Dilemma
Upon discovering his stolen magic cloak, the soldier turned to the dwarf for help. The dwarf then gave him a rosy apple to give to the princess. This apple was enchanted such that upon biting it, the princess’s nose began to grow uncontrollably.
The Return Of The Magic Cloak
Facing a potential life of embarrassment, the princess agreed to return the magic cloak in exchange for the reversal of the dwarf’s spell. Humiliated by her own greed and deceit, she returned the cloak to its rightful owner, leading to her release from the spell. From then on, the soldier continued his blissful life with his magic cloak, while the princess learned her lesson about her dishonest practices.
