For a Different Reason!
Chandrasekhar started his journey to Chandanpur in search of a job. Upon his arrival, he learned that the official in charge, named Satyapal, had a fondness for birds. If he could manage to please him, he would likely receive assistance in securing employment.
The young man began his quest by searching for a bird. He managed to catch a parrot and taught it to speak. Once he was satisfied with the bird’s talents, he decided to present it to Satyapal.
As he entered the official’s office, Chandrasekhar warmly greeted Satyapal, saying, “May you live for a thousand years with health and wealth!” Satyapal, flattered by the compliment, responded, “Thank you!” To his delight, the parrot echoed back, “Thank you!” Following this charming introduction, Satyapal offered him a job in the city.
A few days later, Chandrasekhar was passing by Satyapal’s house and wanted to express his gratitude for the job. During their conversation, he asked, “Sir, did you like the bird I brought for you?”
“Of course, I liked it very much,” said Satyapal. “I enjoy fowl immensely. So, that very day, I killed it and ate it. It was very tasty!”
