What is Depressing, Please?

The warmth of friendship and care shines brightly as Raghu learns to respond to life’s challenges from his bedside, surrounded by those who support him through thick and thin.

Those who knew Raghu intimately were aware of his lazy disposition. However, Chowdhury, the owner of the shop where Raghu worked, overlooked this flaw in his character because Raghu was a trustworthy employee.

One day, while returning from the town in Chowdhury’s cart, an unfortunate accident occurred—the cart overturned, and Raghu was injured. To make matters worse, he was caught in a heavy downpour, resulting in him falling ill.

Chowdhury came to visit him and said, “Raghu, take all the time you need to rest. You won’t lose your pay.” He even sent a physician to attend to Raghu’s medical needs.

A month passed, and during one of his regular visits, the physician spoke softly, “Raghu, I hesitate to tell you this, but it might be disappointing. You need to stay in bed for another month.” After a brief silence, the physician prepared to leave.

“Wait, sir, you forgot to tell me…” Raghu gestured for the physician to stop.

“I’ve told you everything you need to know!” the physician replied.

“But didn’t you want to share something more depressing?” asked Raghu, slightly surprised.

The physician was taken aback by the question, caught off guard by Raghu’s unexpected response.
