The Future

In his quest for a better life, a father sold his property to finance the education and training of his young son, Keshav. Keshav excelled in his studies and secured a lucrative job. Soon after, he married the daughter of a wealthy man and settled down in town.

Despite Keshav’s success, his parents remained in the village and grew old. As time passed, the father fell ill, but Keshav showed little interest in their well-being.

Keshav and his wife, Kesar, had a son. On the day their son completed his studies, Kesar said, “Get him a small job.” Keshav replied, “Why a small job? He must continue his studies and prepare for a more important position!”

Kesar countered, arguing that with such ambitions, their son would marry into a wealthy family, live a luxurious life, and ultimately lose interest in them. “It is our fate that we are left behind,” Keshav lamented.

Contemplating his wife’s words, Keshav took a moment to reflect. That very day, he traveled to the village to reunite with his old parents. He dedicated himself to caring for them as best as he could, realizing the importance of family amidst all his aspirations.
