Must Bear With Them!

Friendship and Folly: A comedic glimpse into the lives of two friends and their naive servants in a vibrant South Indian village.

There were two friends—Samir and Keshav. They had two servants, Bhola and Babu, who were well-known for their naivety. “I have yet to see a greater fool than Bhola,” said Samir. “My servant Babu will surpass yours, I bet,” replied Keshav. The two friends decided to summon Bhola and Babu.

“Will you go to the bazaar and buy a diamond ring for me?” Samir asked Bhola, handing him one paisa. “I shall fetch it at once,” promised Bhola, taking the money and heading out.

“Will you go to the garden and check whether I am there or not?” Keshav asked Babu. “I shall check instantly,” said Babu, before quickly leaving.

As the two friends laughed over their servants’ naivety, a passerby overheard Bhola and Babu talking on the road. “My master is a fool. He does not remember that today is Sunday, and I cannot buy a diamond ring for him,” Bhola observed.
“Is my master a lesser fool? Shouldn’t the gardener know better whether he is in the garden or not? Why ask me?” Babu added.

“Well, well, we must bear with them,” both Bhola and Babu remarked in unison.
